SP instructs cops to improve work culture and professionalism

After assuming charge of the office, the newly posted Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal chaired a meeting of the gazetted officers and sought information about the police stations and chowkis. He also enquired about the activities and conditions of various areas of the district. He reviewed various subjects and gave necessary instructions to the gazetted officers and SHOs.
He instructed them to focus on improving basic policing with emphasis on crime prevention. The police station in-charge are expected to make every effort to curb social evils and illegal activities like gambling, betting, illegal trade of drugs and prevent youth from getting involved in drug addiction and crime. Involvement of policemen in such illegal activities will not be tolerated, he said.
Agrawal asked all the police officers to work with the teamwork spirit. He instructed them to remain active as there is no scope for the slow officers and delayed response. SP asked them to behave well with the complainants and improve the first response in case of incidents and complaints. SHOs were asked to ensure the immediate arrest of criminals especially in crimes against women and children. Further, the investigations should be completed as early as possible and challan should be produced before the court. Efforts will be made to improve the work culture of the police and bring more professionalism in the works, he said.
In relation to the traffic issues, SP said that the former officials have also worked on this subject and the department will carry forward their good plans. The existing problems will be reviewed with all the stakeholders and efforts will be made to ensure smooth traffic movement.  by meeting all the stakeholders.
SP further said that Chief Minister and Home Minister have given instructions for the process of refund in chit fund cases. Accordingly, the processes are to be sped up by reviewing them regularly. The work of police stations and chowkis will be reviewed and priorities will be decided after understanding the problems of the district. Efforts should be made to reduce crimes like theft, extortion, women related crimes and cyber crimes.
