Massive loss to paddy crop due to unseasonal rains

Pandaria, Nov 24:

Due to rains in city and rural areas of the block on Saturday night has caused huge damage to standing paddy crop. Maximum loss is to the harvested paddy kept out in the open and uncovered. Majority of harvested paddy by the farmers in the region is kept out in the open and it gets drenched due to untimelyrains. Due to rains many farm fields are also facing waterlogging and all this is causing damage to paddy. The paddy along with ‘Karpa’ were lying in the fields and due to rains it got submerged. Farmer Ashok Sahu from Mainpura informed that with rain water filling in the farms, it is becoming difficult to lift paddy’s ‘Karpa’. In addition to this the paddy crop has got completely drenched and in view of this the chances of getting good profit this year are minimizing.
Few keeping paddy covered under Tarpaulin:
With rains filling up paddy fields, the ripened crop of farmers has got badly damaged. At the same time with ‘Karpa’ getting submerged in water, the farmers are now made to dry it on borders of farm and have kept the ‘Kharhi’ of paddy in the farms well covered with polythene sheets.
Loss to ‘Tilhan’ and vegetables:
Due to untimely rains, it has cause huge damage to paddy crop and apart from this the crop of ‘Sarso’, ‘Arhar’, ‘Ramtil’ has also got damged. The flowers of ‘Sarson’ and ‘Arhar’ have got blown off due to rains and strong winds. Apart from this many vegetables too has got damaged.
