Steel Melting Shop 3 creates New Record of 64 Heats in a Day

Bhilai, Nov 16:
SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Modex unit, Steel Melting Shop 3 recorded its highest production in a day on November 15, 2021 by making 64 heats, producing 10,694 Tonnes of crude steel, surpassing the previous record of 63 heats or 10,674 Tonnes on October 17, 2021. The graph of production at SMS 3 that supplies cast blooms to Universal Rail Mill and cast billets to Bar & Rod Mill, Merchant Mill and Wire Rod Mill has been rising steadily. Prior to its 63 heats production on October 17, 2021, SMS 3 had recorded 62 heats in a day on October 13, 2021 and 60 heats in a day on September 24 and September 30, 2021.
On November 10, 2021, the Plant’s Steel Melting Shop 2 too had recorded a high of 70 heats after a long time.
Director In-charge, Bhilai Steel Plant, Anirban Dasgupta, Executive Director (Works), Anjani Kumar congratulated the SMS 3 team and members of associated departments for achieving record level of production.
