‘Advanced Safety Monitoring System’ inaugurated in BSP

The ‘Advanced Safety Monitoring System’ set in place by Safety Engineering Department (SED) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant was inaugurated by ED (Works) Anjani Kumar at ED (Works) Conference Hall on June 21, 2021. CGM I/c (Services) SN Abidi, CGM (C & IT) PK Jha, Acting CGM (Safety & Fire Services) GP Singh, CGMs and HoDs from different departments were present on the occasion.
Conceived by Acting CGM (Safety & Fire Services) GP Singh, ‘Advanced Safety Monitoring System’ was developed by Nidhi Chandrakar, DGM (C & IT) in association with Anurag Pathak, Manager (SED) under the guidance of CGM (C & IT) PK Jha.
ED (Works) Anjani Kumar while inaugurating the ‘Advanced Safety Monitoring System’ said that Safety is of top priority and the new system is an advanced system which will help in strengthening Safety in our Plant. This fool proof system will help in development and enrichment of Safety. These digital systems will help in analysing data related to Safety, help in Safety compliance and proper monitoring, he said. Anjani Kumar congratulated Safety Engineering Department (SED) and C & IT department for this initiative.
Acting CGM (Safety & Fire Services) GP Singh while listing out the features of the ‘Advanced Safety monitoring system’ said that this system will help in improving Safety inspection. Photographs are put before and after unsafe conditions, unsafe acts etc. through this system. Photographs of actions taken after taking cognisance of unsafe conditions and acts are also displayed here. This will ensure total safety. The technical features of the system were presented by Nidhi Chandrakar, DGM (C & IT).
SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has been making continuous efforts to nurturing safety culture in the organisation. Interventions by Departmental Safety Officers (DSOs), Safety Warriors and other human and digital interventions have led to safe work practices.
