Illegal construction obstructing drainage line demolished

Bhilai, Sep 04: Continuous action is being taken against those who have either encroached or have extended construction on drains or illegal occupation under Bhilai Municipal limits. In this sequel, the team of Revenue Department conducted a demolition action in Nehru Nagar, Zone 01 area. Action was taken on the complaint of obstruction in drainage of rainwater due to the construction of ramp over the drain near a bone godown close to Ekta Dwar.
Here it needs a mention that Bhilai Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi has constituted a special squad comprising of officers/employees, who are keeping an eye on the people doing such work and taking prompt action on receiving complaints. Action had been taken in Ward 05 Krishna Nagar, where the occupier had initially given in writing that he would remove the possession himself.
But as the encroachment was not removed within the stipulated time he had assured, on the instructions of Nehru Nagar Zone 01 Commissioner Manish Gayakwad, the demolition proceedings were carried out in the presence of the police force. Assistant Revenue Officer Sharad Dubey said that on the instructions of the Zone Commissioner, action was taken against the illegal occupant of the drain.
A complaint about construction of ramp on about 50 m area on the drain in front of house by one Mohammad Farooq in Ward 05 Krishna Nagar bone godown near Ekta gate, was obstructing the drainage of rain water, which in turn was flowing on the roads was made.
On Saturday, the team of Revenue Department of Zone 01, including Tehsildar Yogendra Verma, Deputy Engineer of Special Squad Siddharth Sahu reached the spot along with the police force and destroyed the extra construction of the drain with the use of earthmover.
