BSP to invite EoI for WTP up- gradation and modernisation

Bhilai, Jul 15: On Thursday, District Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure chaired a meeting of district administration with BSP management officers at Bhilai Municipal Corporation. Collector questioned the BSP officers about the initiatives taken by them to upgrade the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) for ensuring supply of pure drinking water in Bhilai Township.
The BSP officials replied that a proposal has been prepared to upgrade and modernize the filter plant. The new setup will be extended near the old plant. For the purpose, the EoI (Expression of Interest) will be invited in a day or two. The work on this project will commence soon after completion of this formality.
Bhilai Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi and Water Resources Department Executive Engineer Suresh Pandey were also present in the meeting. Raghuvanshi informed the Collector that he visited Maroda Tank on Wednesday. There is sufficient storage of water in Maroda tank as per the requirement.
He added that the water is also expectedly clean. Collector said that along with the long-term project of up-gradation of the filter plant, another immediate solution must be explored so that people do not face any problem for pure drinking water. Additional Collector Nupur Rashi Panna was also present in the meeting.
Collector also inquired about the efforts being made for Dengue Control on the part of BSP Management. BSP Officials informed that a team of 120 members has been formed for anti-dengue operations.
The team is visiting door-to-door to check dengue larvae. So far 56000 houses have been inspected. Larvae were found in some of the houses and the team immediately destroyed them. Tamiphos has been distributed in all the houses. Collector said that control of dengue is top priority.
Collector also discussed about land and building for various development schemes including establishment of Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Sector-4. Along with this, there was a discussion regarding the space for Pauni Pasari Yojana and providing necessary land for urban Gauthan.
Collector also spoke about pending NOCs with BSP. He said that in the cases in which NOC has been sought, the BSP management is expected to take decision and provide information at the earliest so that the related works can be conducted.
He also asked the management to take regular action against encroachment. He said that in view of promoting organised development and civic amenities, it is necessary that strict action is taken regularly against encroachment. Other topics were also discussed in the meeting.
