Hotel sealed for violating Covid19 guidelines

On Sunday, Bhilai Municipal Corporation took a major action against a hotel for violating Covid19 guidelines. Holi Milan (holi get together) event was being hosted at this hotel which was being attended by hundreds of young students. BMC team reached the spot and got the programme cancelled. The hotel was sealed for violating the Covid 19 guidelines.
According to information, BMC got a tip off regarding a huge gathering at a function being organized at Hotel Ajanta Palace situated in Junwani. Acting on this tip off, BMC Zone 1 Team led by Zone Commissioner Sunil Agrahari reached the spot. Force from Smriti Nagar Chowki was called in after which the organizers were persuaded to cancel the programme. All the guests were asked to return back.
Hotel Ajanta Palace is situated between Junwani Square and Surya Mall. The organizers had issued passes for the students to attend this Holi Milan programme. At around 12:00 hrs, large number of students had queued up and were entering the premises. When the joint team of BMC and Police reached there, many students had entered the premises. The organizer – Colour Vibe had made arrangements of DJ, water showers, stalls, etc. It needs to be mentioned here that District Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure has given clear instructions for not organizing public programmes in view of the increasing infection of Corona. The organizers had not taken any permission in this regard. On the instructions of Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi, Hotel Ajanta Palace was sealed. The DJ sets, tents, etc installed there were removed and returned back. It was the biggest action taken by BMC this month for violation of the Corona guidelines. Smriti Nagar SHO JL Shandilya, Deputy Engineer Alok Pasine, Assistant Revenue Officer MS Sori and others were present.
