Police solves Khudmuda blind murder mystery

Bhilai, Mar 18: With the arrest of four persons, police claimed to have solved the sensational blind murder case that occurred in Village Khudmuda of Patan Block on December 21, 2021. The investigation team took about 87 days to crack the mystery behind the murder of four members of Sonkar family at this village.
It has been discovered that property dispute was the cause of this crime. Police have arrested the elder son of the family and his three accomplices in connection to this sensational incidence. This case was very important for the Chhattisgarh Police as the incidence had occurred in the home constituency of the state’s Chief Minister. Scientific analysis helped the cops in tracing the accused.
Addressing media persons here at Police Control Room on Thursday, IGP (Durg Range) Vivekanand Sinha informed that on December 21, 2020, they had received complaint that Dulari Bai Sonkar and her daughter-in-law Kirtin Sonkar were lying dead in pool of blood at their residence located in the outskirts of village Khudmuda. Kirtin’s minor son Durgesh Sonkar was also lying injured while Dulari’s husband Balaram Sonkar and son Rohit Sonkar were missing.
The investigation team reached the spot and found that the bodies of Balaram Sonkar and Rohit Sonkar were dumped in a tank in the house itself. Durgesh was admitted in the hospital and a case was lodged under sections 302, 307, 201 of IPC. Crime scene investigation was conducted and all the vital evidences were collected and preserved. All the family members and villagers were quizzed.
Scientific and technical investigations were also conducted and it was discovered that the family property dispute was the cause behind this criminal incidence. As it was a blind murder case with no eye witnesses and vital evidences, police decided to conduct Narco Tests of the suspects.
The suspects underwent narco-analysis at Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. On the basis of the findings received in narco tests, the suspects were thoroughly interrogated. During sustained interrogation, they confessed to have committed the crime. The prime accused of this case Gangaram Sonkar, elder son of the deceased Balaram Sonkar and Dulari Bai Sonkar.
Gangaram informed that he had no passage to reach his 1.25 acres agricultural land. So he demanded from his mother Dulari Bai Sonkar to provide some land from her Baadi which he could use as passage to reach the agriculture land. Dulari Bai and Rohit Sonkar were not ready to spare land for him.
Further, the division of parental property was conducted but it was not updated in the land records. Due to this reason, Gangaram’s land was still recorded as property of Somnath. At the time of selling paddy in the procurement centre, he was not provided the land record books by Dulari Bai and Rohit. Due to aforesaid disputes, Gangaram had threatened his mother of dire consequences. Finally, he decided to kill his parents, younger brother and sister-in-law. He included three others in this conspiracy and executed the same on December 21, 2020.
Police have arrested Gangaram Sonkar (35) son of Balaram Sonkar a resident of Khudmuda; Yogesh Sonkar alias Mahakaal (34) son of Kheduram Sonkar a resident of Ghughuwa; Naresh Sonkar (49) son of Punit Ram Sonkar a resident of Ghughuwa and Rohit Sonkar alias Rohit Mausa (35) son of Bhuvan Lal Sonkar a resident of Kopedeeh on charges of four homicides.
