Nine bootleggers held with illicit liquor

Bhilai, Jul 16: Police conducted a special operation against the people involved in illegal peddling of liquor and rounded up nine accused from different areas of Amleshwar Police Station limits.
ASP (Rural) Anant Kumar informed that on directions of SP Prashant Agrawal, teams of Amleshwar Police Station conducted raids at various spots in villages Jamrao, Sankra, Kapsi and Jamgaon (M) and caught the bootleggers with a total of 188 quarters of illicit liquor.
Five of them were booked under the provisions of Section 34 (2) of Excise Act; three were booked under Section 34 (1) of Excise Act and one of them was booked under section 36 (C) of Excise Act.
32 quarters and Rs 310 cash was seized from Rajkumar Sonkar at village Jamrao; 36 quarters of liquor and Rs 520 cash was seized from Radheshyam Nishad at village Jamrao; 32 quarters of liquor was seized from Shatrughan Kurre (40) of village Pahanda; 31 quarters of liquor was seized from Durgesh Kumar Pardhi (23) of Village Sankra; 34 quarters of liquor was seized from Raja Yadu (21) of Khamhariya; seven quarters were seized from Rajesh Pardhi (45) of village Sankra; seven quarters were seized from Rajkunwar Lahre (27) of village Kapsi; nine quarters were seized from Dallu Pardhi (32) of village Sankra and Pappu Thakur was arrested for serving liquor at
his hotel.
