Framog Carbide Cutting Machines revamped in RSM
Central Chronicle News
Bhilai, Jul 17: Two numbers of Framog carbide cutting machines in Finishing Area of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Rail & Structural Mill have been revamped with in-house resources and expertise. There are three numbers of Framog carbide cutting machines in Finishing Area of the Mill that are used for front end cutting of 26 metre rails during processing so as to prevent rejections and thereby enhance productivity.
Two numbers of Framog carbide cutting machines were not working on account of the Siemens common DC module and main motor module having developed problems. While the common DC module was available, the Siemens main motor module was replaced by using Yaskawa general purpose high torque drive. Necessary modifications were carried out in the software and both the in-operational Framog carbide cutting machines were thus revived with in-house resources and expertise.
The decision to revive this important system was taken by MM Gadre, CGM (RSM, RTS & RPDB). The revamping job was carried out under the guidance of Samir Singh, GM (Rail Mill-Electrical) and SS Sorte, GM (Electrical) along with Prashant Lakhe, GM (Rail Mill-Electrical).
The job was executed by Avnish Mishra, Manager and N Nateshan under the supervision of Prashant Lakhe, GM (Rail Mill-Electrical), HR Meghwal, GM Elect-Planning, RK Pawar, DGM (Elect.).
