Collector reviews reported increase in Corona cases

Bhilai, Mar 12: Around 570 new cases of corona have been reported in the district in the last ten days. When compared to last month, this is an increasing trend. In view of this, one needs to be extremely alert and cautious.
Caution people about the need to use masks and sanitizers. Strict action should be taken against those not using masks in public places, said the Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure at a meeting of the Covid Control Task Force.
Also present at the meeting were SP Prashant Thakur, Additional SPs Rohit Jha and Pragya Meshram. They said that in view of the increasing cases of Covid, watchfulness is very important and the police teams will continuously take action against those who violate the Covid Guidelines.
The collector further said that special attention should be taken in premises of government offices, in public places, in markets, restaurants, where it should be ensured that people use masks.
He suggested to fine those who do not use mask and. It has to be monitored daily, he added. Bhilai Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi, District Panchayat CEO Sachchidanand Alok, Additional Collector Prakash Surve, BB Panchbhai, CMHO Dr Gambhir Singh Thakur and other officials were present.
The Collector stated that the current testing rate is more than 2000 daily, which needs to be increased further. Testing should be done more and more in those places which are emerging as hotspots. He added that people should be made aware about the symptoms and get tested as soon as they emerge. Officials said that the maximum number of cases have been noted in the age group of 30 to 60 years.
The collector said that this age group is of the working class and extensive testing should be done in the areas where more cases have been reported.
He said that people have to understand that through them the corona can reach elderly people of the family, therefore, take full precaution. In the recent update, it has been reported that 60 percent of cases are in Bhilai and 30 per cent in Durg.
The collector instructed the corporation commissioners to hold meeting of the zone commissioners of the areas that have evolved as hotspots, and prepare a strategy to prevent corona from spreading any further. He asked the commissioners to take a meeting of the traders coming under the corporation area and discuss with them strategy that would prevent corona from spreading.
Special attention will be given to the passenger of trains coming from Mumbai, Pune, also in the bus stand – in view of the increasing cases of Corona in Maharashtra, instructions were given to keep a special watch on the railway passenger.
Testing of citizens with symptoms will be conducted at the station itself. Similarly, in the bus stand also, the symptoms of passenger trains coming from Pune and Nagpur will also be checked.
The Collector also reviewed the progress in corona vaccination and added that speed of vaccination needs to be increased. He instructed all SDMs to complete the target in this regard at the earliest. Also, vaccination has been started in Central Jail from Friday, it was informed.
The Collector also said that permission will be required if more than 50 guests are to be invited in any function. He directed the officials that if more than 50 guests come to any event, the organizers of the event will have to take written permission from the Tehsildar. Also no more than 200 guests will be allowed on any
condition.
