Rowdy contractor threatens and abuses PHE officials

Bhilai, Aug 25: On Wednesday, the officers / employees of PHE office met District Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and SP Prashant Agarwal and submitted memorandums against a rowdy contractor. The aggrieved officers / employees informed the Collector that on Tuesday, a person named Devendra Agrawal forcefully entered into the office and abused and threatened them.
He misbehaved with everyone in the office including Executive Engineer, Deputy Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Clerk. He further called-in some anti-social elements to terrify the officials. The women employees got scared after witnessing this unpleasant situation.
Officials said that they are terrified with the misdeed of Devendra Agrawal. During this incident, members of the Durg District Public Health Engineering Contractors Association were also present. In its memorandum, Contractors Association stated that when the Association members tried to stop the indecent behaviour, Devendra Agrawal started beating them too.
He further threatened them for not contesting in the tendering process and asserted that he will only acquire the contracts of PHE. Contractors’ Association in its memorandum has demanded strict action against the accused.
