Bhanupratappur, May 25: There is no culvert to go to the Bangachar of Durgukondal block. The villagers here have been making wooden culverts for the last 30 years. There is no proper road to reach Bangachar, 14 km from the block headquarters. The villagers of the area are very upset due to lack of road culvert, tired of demanding from the administration, every year, before the monsoon, the villagers have been making wooden culverts to reach their village. Elder villager Sukhdev Baghel said that this village has been inhabited since ancient times and currently has a population of about one thousand.
Even after 75 years of independence, the convenience of transportation is not available. The leaders also come at the time of elections and go on promising road culverts, then the leaders do not remember them.
Dhiraji Baghel, Milap Baghel said that the villagers have been constantly demanding from the administration, but no one paid any attention and the villagers are very upset during the rains.
The village turns into an island
This only culvert also gets submerged in water during the rains, the traffic stops, the entire village is transformed into an island for several days. People from other villages including Latamaraka, Jui, Kovachiktel, Nirodadihi, Santrai come from this route. High school students go to Kodapakha to study here, they are also affected.
Sarpanch Gulab Baghel said that a big budget is needed for the culvert, the gram panchayat is unable to make it, the Congress, BJP and officials have been demanding from the Congress and previous BJP government for 30 consecutive years about the problem of the culvert.
How to make a wooden culvert
The villagers said that to make a culvert, they meet in the village and decide to make it with public support and after that arrange for wood, bamboo, murrum etc. and in about a week the culvert is completed.
There are many accidents in this culvert
Milap Baghel said that earlier there was more trouble, after this, 15 years back, the foundation was built by collecting funds with public support in the drain, the support is given by putting bamboo, the culvert is damaged during excessive rain, many times there have also been accidents. . The car has fallen from the culvert. the bikers have also been injured.
Ambulance does not reach in the rain
The ambulance also does not reach the village due to the flooding of water during the rains, due to which the patient, the maternity has to cross the culvert in the cot etc, which is a waste of time.
