Durg Commissioner inspects preparations of Sheonath Mahotsav Mela Madai

Bhilai, Mar 10: Durg Municipal Corporation is organizing a grand event “Sheonath Mahotsav Mela Madai to mark the celebration of Mahashivratri that falls on March 11. The Durg Commissioner Haresh Mandavi on Wednesday visited the banks of river Sheonath to inspect the cleanliness as well as water and lighting arrangements.
He was accompanied by the officials Assistant Engineer Jitendra Samaiya, in-charge Assistant Engineer AR Rahangadale, water works inspector Narayan Singh Thakur, health officer Durgesh Gupta and officials of Amrit Mission Yojna Agency.
After inspection the Commissioner asked the officials accompanying him to maintain the cleanliness of the place and asked to set up barricades and arrange a separate changing tent for women. Proper marking should be done at places. He asked to remove the garbage from the river bank and place barricades.
He also asked to install banners and posters related to Cleanliness Survey 2021 for publicity of the cleanliness campaign. He said that as the turnout is expected to be huge as people come from all over the district, amenities like clean drinking water, proper illumination etc should be made at the Shoenath bank.
Not to forget, to keep dustbins in place so that the general public does not spread garbage. He also visited the stall to be given for business in the fair site.
He inspected the parking place and asked the officials to se that parking facility is smooth and public in general dones not face problem.
