Drinking water testing facility to reach every village: Guru Rudra Kumar

Bhilai, Mar 13: Apart from providing safe drinking water to all, the quality of drinking water is also an important factor. Efforts are being made by the state government in both the direction. Work is being done to provide drinking water arrangements in all the houses under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Also, work is being done for testing the quality of drinking water, stated Public Health Engineering and Village Industry Minister Guru Rudra Kumar while addressing the participants of water testing training session held at Ahiwara on Friday.
The trainees received training to conduct water quality test with the help of Field Testing Kit (FTK). Guru Rudra Kumar said that this test is very useful to analyzing the quality of water at primary stage.
PHE Minister added that work is in progress to provide pure water to every household through the Jal Jeevan Mission. The government will not only provide safe drinking water but will also ensure supply of adequate amount of water to every household for other daily chores.
Quality testing of drinking water has become easy with the help of FTK. This provides primary information about the quality of water. If there is some doubt about the purity, the samples can be sent to Testing Lab in Durg.
On the occasion, Minister Guru Rudra Kumar flagged off the awareness chariot. It needs to be mentioned here that Block level training was organized by the Public Health Engineering Department at Ahiwara to conduct testing of water from all the drinking water sources.
This programme is being conducted under the Jal Jeevan Mission and District Water and Sanitation Mission. In this training session, Lab Chemist Parimal Dutta and his team explained the process of using FTK to the trainees who had arrived from all the panchayats of the Dhamdha block.
FC Borkar, Assistant Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, Durg; Deputy Engineer Vishal Gedam and others played vital role to ensure success of the programme.
