Absconding accused nabbed after a year

Police have succeeded to arrest an absconding accused on attempt to murder after about a year. During lockdown, the accused was hiding in Wambay Awas Colony of Urla. The accused has been sent to jail in connection with two different cases.
Inspector Brijesh Kushwaha (SHO, Mohan Nagar) informed that under the guidance of SP Prashant Thakur, ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw and CSP (Durg) Vivek Shukla, the team of Mohan Nagar Police Station is constantly maintaining vigil on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders. The network of informers has also been activated for the purpose.
In this sequel, the patrolling party of Mohan Nagar Police Station received a tip off regarding an absconding accused. Police team swung into action and the accused was arrested from a house in Wambay Awas Colony of Urla. The accused Deepak Thakur son of Keval Thakur was wanted in a case of Attempt to Murder. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to have committed the crime. His statement was recorded under section 27 of Evidence Act. The accused also disclosed information about the sword which was used in the crime. Police have recovered this sharp weapon and have added Section 25, 27 of Arms Act in the original FIR. The accused is a habitual offender and was wanted in another case lodged under sections 294, 323, 327, 506, 34 of IPC. The accused was produced before the court and has been sent to jail on judicial remand. ASI Vinod Singh, Constable Manish Agnihotri, Narendra Sahare and Hiraman Sahu played vital role in arresting the accused.
