IMA assures to increase use of generic medicines

Jagdalpur, Dec 09:
To provide relief to patients of Jagdalpur and entire Bastar region from increasing prices of medicines, the state government’s move to promote use of ‘Generic Medicine’ will get due support of member doctors of IMA Chhattisgarh. In the meeting of IMA members hel at ‘Prerna’ hall of Collectorate under chairmanship of Collector Rajat Bansal, the members said that they will inform patients about use of generic medicines and the medical stores where it is available. Along with this they will also motivate people to take up vaccination and run awareness campaign and also assured not to examine patients who are not vaccinated with both the doses of medicines.
In the meeting members of IMA raised demand for use of fire-extinguishers through pipeline in big hospitals and cylinder based extinguishers in clinics. They also raised demand for taking action against the persons involved in violence against the doctors and health employees and allow the doctors from outside to hold medical camps only after permission from CHMO and IMA’s recommendations. IMA also raised demand for allotment of land for construction of IMA’s office in Jagdalpur and allowing their office to be functional in one room in hospital premises. Meeting was attended by Health deptt in-Cahrge Geeta Raisat, officers and employees of IMA and health department.
