Temephos Solution of desired Quality being distributed in township

Bhilai, Jun 16: As part of intensive anti-larvae drive being carried out by Public Health Dept (PHD) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Town Services Dept in the township and inside the Plant premises, Temephos solution is being distributed in residential areas of the Township on a large scale. Residents are being advised to keep coolers and water storage tanks clean and to use Temephos solution every four days.
Deputy General Manager in Public Health Dept, KK Yadav maintains that the Temephos solution being distributed in residential areas of the Township is of desired quality. The expiry date of Temephos solution being distributed is September 17, 2021, Yadav informed.
Residents are therefore advised not to pay heed or get carried away by any rumour. Bhilai Steel Plant that has always been acting as a responsible corporate citizen would not indulge in any such activity.
Bhilai Steel Plant has been carrying out the work of distribution of Temephos solution through a contract for pest control since 2019. According to the scope of work defined in the contract, the Temephos solution is being prepared by the contractor and distributed in residential areas of the township.
Presently, this job of distribution of Temephos solution in Bhilai township is being carried out by Messrs Chandi Pest Control. So far, Temephos solution has been distributed in 15,000 households. The Temephos solution being distributed now has batch no TMF042K with September 17, 2021 as expiry date.
Expired Temephos solution is not being distributed by Bhilai Steel Plant. Expired Temephos solution cannot be disposed anywhere. There is a pre-determined system in place for destroying expired Temephos solution.
The Temephos solution that was procured by BSP in 2018 with an expiry date of August 2020, have been kept separately and safely in Store. The process for destroying this expired Temephos solution is underway.
SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has been making all efforts every year to stop dengue from spreading in the township. Residents are advised not to pay heed to unsubstantiated news and cooperate with concerned department that is carrying out large scale activities as well as awareness drive to guard against dengue.
