Police conducts safety audit at bank branches

Bhilai, May 27: Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur, a special team of Durg Police conducted random inspections at the premises of various banks on Thursday. Additional Superintendent of Police (Durg City) Sanjay Kumar Dhruv led this special team and conducted safety audits at the branches of various banks.
On the second day of ‘unlock’ in Durg district, the banks have been opened for the common people and they are now able to get their works done. Crowd started gathering in public places and it is suspected that the criminals could become active near the banks and other financial establishments. Considering the situation, the District Police tried to make its presence felt near the banks to create fear among the criminals.
During the surprise inspection of the banks, all the people present inside and outside the bank premises were questioned about the reason for their visit to the banks.
Some suspects were checked also and were asked to produce supporting documents. Safety audit was done by checking the bank security parameters including alarm system, CCTV, fire extinguisher, alarm check on ATM sabotage, guard security, etc. At a few branches, the police team discovered deficiencies in security arrangements.
The concerned bank managers were directed to fix the shortcomings. All the gazetted officers of District Police, SHOs and jawans carried out the inspection.
