Cops hold chaupals in rural areas

Bhilai, Feb 24: Under the directions of Director General of Police DM Awasthi, cops are holding chaupals in rural areas of the district. This initiative has been taken under the public outreach programme of Chhattisgarh Police and is aimed to enhance mutual coordination between police and public for ensuring better crime control and prevention. Under the leadership of SP Prashant Thakur and supervision of ASP (Rural) PraggyaMeshra, SDOP (Patan) Akash Rao Girepunje and DSP (Head Quarters) Shaukat Ali, the chaupals are being organised in various villages for the last seven days.
ASP PraggyaMeshram informed that the SHOs of various police stations are holding chaupals in villages of their respective jurisdiction area. They are trying to explore the problems of the villagers and are detailing them about the cyber crimes, crimes against women and children, chit fund frauds, de-addiction, etc. At the same time, they are checking the under surveillance offenders, goons, pardoned ruffians, convicted offenders, suspects and travellers. Cops are also collecting information about the migrants, wanderers and nomads.
In the last seven days, chaupals have been organised at villages Utai, Pauwara, Umarpoti, Purai and Borigarka of Utai Police Station; villages Ghugasideeh, Machandur, Katro and matro of Machandur Chowki; Villages Pandar, Bathena, Arasnara of Patan Police Station; Villages Pahanda, Batrel, Jamgaon (R), Chulgahan, Temri of Ranitarai Police Station; villages Sankra, Amleshwar, and Khudmuda of Amleshwar Police Station; villages Kuthrel, Anda, Vinayakpur of Anda Police Station; villages Sukhrikala, Gadadeeh, Nawagaon, Badepurda, and Daniya of Bori Police Station;villagesArsi, Dodki, Devarkona, Chicha, Hasda and Chichla of Chowki LitiyaSemaria; villages Dhamdha and Motipur of Dhamdha Police Station; villages Arasnara, Ravelideeh, Pendritarai, Oorkha, Potia, Semariya and Murmunda of Nandini Nagar Police Station.
