Cold wave: DMC arranges bonfire at major squares for people

Bhilai, Dec 20: With the fall in the temperature of the area due to cold wave, there has been a significant downfall in temperature. Keeping this in mind, on the instructions of Durg Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal and Commissioner Haresh Mandavi, the Municipal Corporation Encroachment Department and Flying Squad team have arranged bonfires at major squares and public places of Durg city. This would help the homeless and needy in getting relief during the winter. Arrangements have been made by the Municipal Corporation to light the bonfire at these places with wood and cow dung made in Gauthan.
The arrangement of bonfire will give relief to the night commuters, auto and rickshaw drivers and those who spend the night on footpaths. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Haresh Mandavi said that like every year, this time also bonfires have been arranged at major squares of the city to give relief to the needy people from the cold. The facility is being provided at places like Railway station, new bus stand, District Hospital, Indira Market etc. The responsibility of lighting the fire has been given to Flying Squad in-charge Shiv Sharma, Assistant Health Officer Javed Ali and Sanitary Inspector Raju Singh.
