CM inaugurates / performs bhoomipujan of projects worth Rs 115 crore

Bhilai, Sep 19: On Sunday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated / performed bhoomipujan of 401 projects of Public Works Department to the tune of over Rs 2834 crore. Out of these, Durg district had a share of projects worth Rs 115 crore. A total of 17 works were approved, out of which bhoomipujan was performed for 15 projects and two projects were dedicated to public.
These projects include the work of upgradation and renovation of roads, construction of bridges and construction of quarters at Community and Primary Health Center of Nikumbh. 14 km four-lane road between Nankatti, Daniya, Bori, Purda and Litiya main road; 600 meter access road construction work in Civil Court Bhilai-3, 1.725 km construction work from World Bank Colony to Ekta Nagar, Durg to Kaivalyadham access road construction work and bridge construction.
It is proposed to construct a high level bridge across Shivnath river on Anjora – Changori – Bharda road and high level bridge across Shivnath river on Durg – Nagpura – Karela road.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that despite various challenges, development work is going on continuously in Chhattisgarh. Along with social sector schemes, work is also being done at a fast pace in the direction of construction and public convenience.
In order to improve the traffic facilities in the Naxal affected areas also, work is being done on the approved works at a fast pace. Our priority is to improve the road network as well as speed up public facilities.
Public Works Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu presided over the programme. He thanked CM Bhupesh Baghel for working in the interest of the public and providing adequate amount of budget to the departments. He said that on the basis of experience, the government brought a change in the working style, as a result of which the government was able to continue the development works easily.
He further said that in future, connecting all public places and government buildings by with pucca road from the main road is also included in our priority under the Mukhyamantri Sugam Sadak Yojana. Special care is being taken by the government to allocate equal work in all the assembly constituencies.
Durg MLA Arun Vora, Durg District Panchayat President Shalini Yadav, Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal, District Congress Committee President Tulsi Sahu, Janpad Panchayat (Durg) President Devendra Deshmukh, DMC Speaker Rajesh Yadav, Antyavasayi Corporation Vice President Neeta Lodhi, Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Additional Collector Nupur Rashi Panna, District Panchayat CEO Sachchidanand Alok, Public Works Department and District Panchayat officials, employees and public representatives were also
present.
