‘Near Miss’ reporting corner set up in Merchant Mill

Bhilai, Sep 09: A special corner has been made in SAIL-BSP’s Merchant Mill to encourage reporting ‘Near Miss’ cases that could have led to accidents taking place. A duly filled up sample form for reporting ‘Near Miss’ cases has been displayed and a drop box has been placed for both regular employees as well as contract workers to report such cases. The Near Miss Reporting Corner was inaugurated by Ajay Bedi, CGM Merchant Mill and Wire Rod Mill. Addressing those present, Bedi said that accidents can be averted and the common objective of Zero Accident achieved by keeping proper record and analysis of near miss cases. Rajesh Dalal, GM (Merchant Mill) said it has been decided to give awards to all those who report acceptable near miss cases in the year. Sushil Hariramani, GM (Operation), Preetam Singh Koreti, GM (Mech), SK Nayak, GM (Elect), DK Patel, Dept Safety Officer and members of the Mill collective were present on the occasion.
