CM inaugurates new college in Kumhari

Bhilai, Aug 23: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a new college in Kumhari on Monday. In his address, Chief Minister said that with the opening of a new college, the students of Kumhari would no longer need to travel to Bhilai-3 or Raipur for studies. This college will cater the facilities for the education in arts, science and commerce.
With the availability of education for all the three streams, the best system of higher education has been prepared in Kumhari. Chief Minister said, “It is a matter of pride for us that we have got the opportunity to serve Chhattisgarh Mahtari. We are committed to the development of the state”.
Earlier, Durg District’s Guardian Minister Mohammad Akbar, in his address, announced that the new college will be named after the mother of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. It was announced to be named after Mrs Bindeshwari Baghel. In his address, Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the cabinet. “It is an emotional moment for me”, CM said. In his remarks, Chief Minister said that the citizens had been demanding for the new college in Kumhari.
Instructions were given to work in this direction and the new college came into existence in this academic session. He appreciated the swift working on the part of the administration.
On this occasion, Guardian Minister Mohammad Akbar said that this is a big decision from the point of view of expansion of educational infrastructure in Kumhari. The youth of Kumhari area will get the benefit of this college.
Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel said that it is a matter of happiness that a great work has been done with a view to promote educational infrastructure. This will benefit the large population of Kumhari. It will save a lot of time of the students.
Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure was also present on this occasion. He gave detailed information about the facilities of the college. College Principal Dr Amrita Kasture said that 90 seats have been kept in BA and BCom while 45 seats in Science. So far, 200 students have applied.
Newly admitted student Chandra Prakash Yadav also thanked the Chief Minister. Chandra Prakash said that he has taken admission in BSc. If there was no college right now, he would have had to study in Raipur or Bhilai, which would have caused a lot of trouble. Now he will be able to study well while staying at home.
Kumhari Municipal Council President Rajesh Sonkar, Vice President K Ravi Kumar, Chief Minister’s OSD Manish Banchhore and other officials were present on the occasion.
