Ruffian held while attempting theft at bank

Bhilai, Aug 11: A ruffian was arrested red-handed while attempting theft at the Vaishali Nagar branch of Uco Bank. Using a gas cutter and other tools, the accused had cut the door lock of the bank premises. In the meanwhile, the cleanliness worker arrived and thereafter the cops were called in.
The accused was unable to escape and was hiding in the bank premises only. Cops searched the bank building and he was arrested. The accused is identified as Chipbandhu Sapha (18) son of Jitendra Kumar a resident of Shivaji Square, Ramnagar. He has been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 457, 380, 511 of IPC.
ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw informed that at around 06:00 hrs, the cleanliness worker of Uco Bank, Vaishali Nagar reached the bank premises and found that the lock was broken. She immediately informed the manager Jaidev Tripathi after which police was called in.
Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) of Dial 112 of Vaishali Nagar Police Station rushed to the spot. Constable Rajnikant, Constable Ajay Gehlot, Constable Hemant Singh, Constable/ Driver Gagandeep Singh Giri and Constable Aavesh Siddhiqi reached there within no time and entered into the premises. They found the thief hiding inside the bank and took him in custody. Police recovered Gas Cutter, Hexa Blade, Screw Driver and other tools from his possession.
During interrogation, the accused informed that he had purchased gas cutter from the online shopping site “Amazon”. Using this gas cutter and hexa blade, he managed to cut three locks of the bank. He was arrested before he could have cut the cash locker with this gas cutter.
