BSP raises the bar again, crosses 19,000 T mark in Hot Metal production

After having crossed 18000 Tonne mark four times in the fourth and last quarter of current Fiscal Year, SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Blast Furnaces have crossed the 19000 T mark in hot metal with support of upstream & downstream shops, producing 19030 T on March 04, 2021, surpassing 18540 T made on March 02, 2021, thereby raising the bar once again in SAIL. Earlier on February 17, 2021, the Plant had recorded highest daily hot metal production by any steel plant in SAIL by producing 18,287 T hot metal.
The graph of performance of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has been steadily rising in the last quarter of current fiscal year. On January 14, 2021, when the Plant produced 18,208 T hot metal, a ten year old record of 18,182 T made on August 14, 2010 was broken, and a new record of daily production by any steel plant in SAIL had been set. Now, with the Plant’s Blast Furnaces recording a new high of 19030 T on March 04, 2021, the bar of performance has been raised still higher in SAIL.
Congratulatory messages have been pouring in from all shops and departments and from senior officers in SAIL-BSP for the record-breaking performances.  Congratulating the Blast Furnaces Team and members of all associated upstream and downstream departments for the superlative performance, Director I/c SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, Anirban Dasgupta urged Team Bhilai to sustain higher levels of performance in the concluding month of current fiscal year and in the months ahead.
Conveying his congratulations to the entire team of Blast Furnaces and those from associated shops and departments, both upstream and downstream, Rajiv Sehgal, ED (Works) said this is a very special and super show by Team Bhilai. With this milestone, Bhilai has once again proved at what level of efficiency the plant can operate. The value of achievement lies in achieving, he stated, adding that teams move faster are more innovative and more successful when everyone is committed to the overall goal. Team work is essential for everyone attempting to achieve given targets successfully, he said. Tapas Dasgupta, CGM (Blast Furnaces) has thanked all associated shops and the management for supports and encouragement.
SAIL has recorded the highest ever day hot metal production of 60,225 Tonnes on March 04, 2021 from all its units combined, surpassing the previous best of 59,278 tonnes achieved on February 22, 2021.
