BMC acts against illegal installation of mobile tower, confiscates material

Bhilai, Aug 26: On complaint of the residents of a colony about installation of a mobile tower despite objection and no valid permission, the Bhilai Municipal team on Thursday took action against the agency involved in the installation process and also confiscated the material being used for setting up the tower.
The case is related to Shanti Nagar area where the work of installing tower was being done by Bharti Airtel Company in a house on Street 5B, plot number 140 that belongs to one Poonam Sharma, a resident of Ward No 11. All preparation was in place to install the tower on the first floor of the house. When the residents of the locality came to know about this, they opposed the installation of the tower and made a complaint in this re On the complaint, the corporation issued an information letter to the concerned agency regarding the non-installation of mobile towers. But paying no heed to the letter, the agency continued to move ahead with the installation even after receiving the letter. On this, the team of the corporation reached the spot and stopped the installation of tower. The team also confiscated the material being used for setting up the tower that included 8 nos of battery, 2 nos of iron ladder and 3 nos of iron items. The items were seized in front of Jay Kumar, the representative of the agency. During the action, Deputy Engineer of Building Permission Department Siddharth Sahu, Balkrishna Naidu of Special Squad and Kanhaiya Yadav of Demolition Squad and other employees were present.
