Schools to re-open from Aug 02 with PTA’s consent

The schools in the district are going to re-open from August 02 as per the decision of the state government. However, the consent of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will be required by opening the school.
If the school is being opened, a roaster system will be applied with 50% attendance. Further, students cannot be forced to attend the classes. It will be the sole decision of students whether they want to attend the school or not.
In view of the possibility of a third wave of Coronavirus Pandemic, the district administration has completed all the preparations. In view of the state government’s order, Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure gave necessary instructions to the officers regarding opening of schools in the district. He directed to get all private and government schools sanitised before re-opening. Along with this, necessary repair works should be completed at school buildings at its earliest. Additional Collector Nupur Rashi Panna, Risali Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prakash Sarve, Additional Collector BB Panchbhai and other officers were present in the meeting.
Collector reviewed the facilities like Oxygen Pipeline, Surgical Unit and Ambulance in the district in compliance with the instructions given in the Task Force meeting. He inquired about the status of oxygen pipelines or cylinders in all hospitals, preparedness of generators, ambulances, surgical units, etc. He said that all arrangements should be ensured within a week.
Collector said that there is a possibility of spreading seasonal diseases during the rainy season. For this, it is necessary that water samples from all urban bodies and big villages should be sent regularly to the PHE department for testing. He said that the number of the samples should be increased. Urban bodies which have sent lesser samples were instructed to collect and send more samples. He said that it is very important to test water samples regularly to identify the presence of bacteria like E-coli in water.
Collector also took information regarding the Kharif crop. Officials said that a consignment of urea has arrived which will solve the problem of urea shortage. Collector also took information from the officer of the Water Resources Department regarding water accumulation in the dams. He directed the officers of the Agriculture Department to continuously monitor the status of fertilizers and seeds.
Collector said that during Covid transition period, the complaints of extra-charging by hospitals have been found to be true. In such cases, the extra charges collected by the hospitals should be returned back to the patients. Collector further said that it is the first responsibility of the Civic bodies to keep a constant watch on the civic facilities and fulfill them on priority.
They must control stray cattle on the roads. Ensure arrangement of grazing land for Gauthans in urban areas. He said that the primary responsibility is to repair the internal roads as well as the highways.
