Two notorious bike lifters arrested

Bhilai, Mar 03: Police have arrested two ruffians on charges of bike lifting. Five nos motorcycles, four nos engines and three nos chassis were recovered from their possession. ASP (City) Rohit Jha informed that considering the rising cases of thefts and burglaries, they were maintaining vigil on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders.
The network of informers has also been activated for the purpose. In this sequel, Vaishali Nagar Police Station received a tip off regarding a suspect who was trying to sell a Honda Activa Scooter. Police team immediately swung into action and the suspect was rounded up near Ramulu Square.
Police team questioned him about the documents of the scooter but he was unable to produce. He was taken in custody and during sustained interrogation, he confessed to have committed bike lifting.
He disclosed the name of his accomplice also, who was also arrested later on. The accused are identified as Rajesh Mahilang (24) son of Prahlad Mahilang a resident of village Chirhula, PS Mungeli, District Mungeli and Rajesh Chaturvedi (32) son of Ravi Chaturvedi a resident of village Chitapur, Mungeli.
The accused confessed involvement in bike lifting. They targeted the vehicles parked in lonely places. They used to take the stolen vehicles to their workshop in Mungeli; dissemble the parts and sell them separately. Inspector Jitendra Verma, ASI KS Chauhan, Constable Avesh Siddhiqui, rvind Yadav, Rajesh Sinha, Anup Sharma, Shamim Khan, Shahbaz Khan, and Pankaj played vital role in arresting the accused.
