Carpenters, Blacksmiths, Cobblers, Barbers, etc also eligible for RGGBKMNY

Bhilai, Aug 26: The objective of the monitoring committee is to identify the families of landless agricultural laborers under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana (RGGBKMNY) and provide them financial grants on an annual basis as per the orders of the government.
On Thursday, a meeting of the monitoring committee was chaired by Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure for discussing the ground works to be done under this scheme. Collector said that a significant scheme has been made by the government for the economic upliftment of the landless agricultural labourers.
A large section of the rural population is dependent on agricultural labour. Better implementation of this scheme should be the first priority of all concerned officers and employees.
Collector said that the direct objective of the scheme is to identify landless agricultural labour families and increase their net income by providing financial grants on an annual basis.
He said that the shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, washermen, families associated with the Pauni Pasari Yojna, forest produce collectors and other categories fixed by the government from time to time would also be eligible this scheme if that family does not have agricultural land.
A landless agricultural laborer means a person whose primary means of livelihood is manual labour and no member of his family has agricultural land. All the families who do not have agricultural land in rural areas will be eligible for this scheme.
The registration work of the scheme will commence from September 01. The head of the rural landless agricultural laborer families will have to submit an application to get the grant / aid amount. Under the scheme, landless agricultural laborers registered by the state government will be given a grant of Rs 6000 annually. District Panchayat CEO Sachchidanand Alok, Additional Collector Nupur Rashi Panna and BB Panchbhai were also present.
