Another eleven involved in online-betting arrested
Bhilai, Sep 30: Police have arrested another eleven persons involved in online betting. Durg Police has arrested more than 100 persons for this category of offence in the last ten days. In the recent arrests, police recovered 7430 cash, mobile phones, betting records etc from the possession of the accused. It was a joint operation conducted by the Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and different police stations.
SP Dr Abhishek Pallava informed that they have been conducting an intensive operation against the illegal online betting as well as Satta-Patti for the last few days. A number of ruffians involved in this illegal activity have been arrested. The network of informers has been activated and vigil is being maintained on the activities of suspects. In this sequel, another eleven bookies have been arrested.
The accused are identified as Rajesh Boyar (26) of Santrabadi Durg; Firoz Ali (40) of Takiyapara, Durg; Salim Hashmi (63) of Subhash Nagar Durg; Anil Sao (29) of Ramnagar; Kriparam Verma (58) of Vaishalinagar; Om Prakash Lange (48) of Vaishali Nagar; Manoj Verma (32) of Vaishali Nagar; Paramjeet Singh (32) of Ramnagar; Rahul Kurre (30) of Sirsakhurd; Ganesh Ram Dewangan (48) of Umda, Old Bhilai; and Nitesh Dongre (33) of Umda Old Bhilai.
During the ten eight days, Police have so far taken against more than 100 people associated with online betting activity. The special operation of the Durg Police will continue in future as well.
