Action taken against two fertilizers distributors

Mahasamund, Sep 13: The district administration is strict on ensurinig sufficient quantity of fertilizers and seeds for Khariff season. All the SDMs (Revenue) and Agriculture Officers of the District have been directed to ensure that the farmers do no face any problems related to seeds and fertilizers under any circumstance. They have said that by formulating work plan they should implement in such a manner that the farmers gets seeds and fertilizers as per their requirement. Collector Doman Singh right from start of Khariff crop has directed the agriculture officers of the district and to all SDMs to conduct surprise inspection in Agriculture related shops for prevention of black-marketing and profiteering in sale of fertilizers and seeds and take strict if found violating. He has clearly warned not to tolerate any incident of black-marketing of fertilizers.
On receiving complaint about selling Urea at higher rates under black-marketing by the agriculture material suppliers, the Dy. Director (Agri) SR Dongare along with Fertilizer inspector Bhimrao Ghodesavar conducted inspection in the shops and institutions of seeds and fertilizer sellers. In block headquarters Mahasamund, Urea is left only in three institutions. So in all these three shops by imposing duty of Agri expansion officer, a total of 265 bags of Urea were distributed to farmers as per their farm-land area. Under this, 100 bags of Urea were distributed to 60 farmers from Anand Agos Services Tumgaon; 125 bags to 70 farmers from Sheetal & Brothers Tumgaon and 20 bags to 18 farmers from Chandrakar Khad Mahasamund.
As per instructions from Dy. Director (Agri), the Fertilizer inspector Saraipali AK Mohanty conducted inspection in the shops of the fertilizers sellers along with SDM (Saraipali) on Saturday and took necessary action. From the concerned institutions, under Fertilizer Control Act, a 7 days ban was imposed on sales and purchase from Sep 12-18 on MS Agrawal Tarders Saraipali and from here 12.82 tonnes Urea; 11 tons Super Phosphate Ammonium Sulphate; 15.96 tons Potash, totalling 39.78 tonnes was seized. Similarly in the inspection at MS Rajesh Agrawal Society Saraipali ban on sale/ purchase of fertilizer was banned from Sep 12-14 and here 10.895 tons of Urea, 28.50 tonnes Super Phosphate and 7.95 tonnes Postash, totalling 74 tonnes worth of fertilizer was seized.
