Dr Sonali Chakraborty conferred with “Bang Gaurav Samman”

Bhilai, Sep 26: In a grand felicitation ceremony organised by the World Book of Star Records and Indian Institute of Alternative Medicine in Kolkata, Dr Sonali Chakraborty from the city was honoured in the field of social concern along with 101 people from different regions of India.

In the packed auditorium of a hotel at Elgin Road, Kolkata Yajna Samrat Dr Raja Shastri was the chief guest in this ceremony. Dr Sonali Chakraborty, founder and director of Swayamsiddha, a leading organization of married women in Chhattisgarh, was honoured by Padma Shri Niranjan Goswami (Meme Artist NSD) and eminent cine actress Dagarmani Tudu.

Prominent among those present were Chandra Kumar Bose (social worker, politician and great-grandson of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose), Dilip Maharaj (Bharat Sevashram Sangh), Brahmakumari Kanan Behen (Incharge Eastern Zone Head Quarter Kolkata), Praveer Roy (Bengali film director), Hiran Chatterjee (MLA & Film Actor West Bengal), Eminent Singer & Brand Ambassador of World Book of Star Records Shantashree Bhattacharya, Dr Chandramohan Shrivastava (President Lions Club of Indore Mahanagar Trust), Dr Anupam Nayak, Dr K Rajan Kaval and Dipanvita Jana.

The event also included a seminar on the topic “Contribution of Bengal Culture in the History of Indian Independence”, in which Sonali Chakraborty told about her maternal grandfather Ajit Ranjan Biswas who had worked under the guidance of Master Surya Sen in the early stages of the freedom struggle. She said that wherever the people of Bengal live, they are committed to their culture and will continue to strive for the security, freedom and culture of the country.

Dr Sonali Chakraborty gave full credit of this honour to her husband Sandeep Chakraborty who is working as General Manager in Material Management Department of Bhilai Steel Plant and all the members of Swayamsiddha.
