437 drivers penalised for violating night curfew

Bhilai, May 29: With the aim of breaking the chain of Coronavirus Pandemic, night curfew has been imposed by District Magistrate Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure. Total lockdown is being observed during 06:00 PM to 06:00 AM on all days.
In order to ensure strict compliance of the lockdown norms, district police are constantly working under the instructions of Prashant Thakur (Superintendent of Police, Durg) and guidance of Kavilash Tandon (Additional Superintendent of Police, Traffic) and Gurjit Singh (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic).
Traffic Police is constantly taking action against the violators across the city. Cops have been positioned at 32 fix points which includes 16 traffic police points and 16 fix points of the police stations. The police action continues from 06:00 PM to 12:00 midnight during which only the emergency service vehicles are allowed to move.
Action was taken against a total of 376 vehicles under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act. Other 61 careless people were found who were roaming without masks. Action was taken against them under the provisions of Epidemic Act. This campaign against violators will be intensified in the days to come.
Traffic Police appealed the common citizens to follow the government instructions in view of the present situation of Novel Coronavirus Pandemic. People have been urged to follow the instructions given by the government, always use mask, maintain social distancing and come out of the house only when it is very necessary.
