Cultivate empathy with the public, but spare not traffic trespassers: MP Mahant

Koriya, Aug 18: Treat the public with kindness, but be stringent on traffic rule violators, said Jyotsana Mahant, Lok Sabha MP and Chairman of Road Safety Committee. She was chairing a Road Safety Committee meeting in the district here.
Mrs. Mahant urged to work as a campaign towards improving traffic management and bringing awareness to the rules of road safety. Encourage petrol pump operators not to give petrol to two wheeler drivers without wearing helmets, she said, while also advising to improve the parking system, of the region.
Also present in the meeting was Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, who gave information about the reasons for the increase in road accidents and measures on how to resolve it. Road safety agendas were discussed in detail in the meeting, wherein action for identification and rectification of black spots, marking of traffic signs, warning signs on the roads, taking action against those who put goods on the roads in busy markets, immediate help to the victims of accidents, arrangements for medical aid, action against drunken drivers, installing speed breakers and street rumbles was also discussed.
Present in the meeting were Parliamentary Secretary and Baikunthpur MLA Ambika Singhdeo, Manendragarh MLA Dr. Vinay Jaiswal, District Panchayat President Renuka Singh, Vice President Vedanti Tiwari, Mayor Kanchan Jaiswal, District Representative, Collector Shyam Dhawade, Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, CEO District Panchayat Kunal Dudawat and other
officials.
