Folk & cultural heritage giving recognition to Chhattisgarh, says Shiv Dahariya

Bhilai, Feb 28: Urban Administration &Development Minister Dr ShivkumarDahariya attended the two-day folk art festival organized under the auspices of Guru Ghasidas Arts Kala Evam Sahitya Vikas Samiti at village Ganiari in Durg district the other day.
While addressing the function he said that it is through such Lok Kala Mahotsavs that the cultural heritage of the State is preserved and passed on. The state government is also working in the direction of saving the culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh. It is for the promotion of Chhattisgarhi culture, that the government has declared holidayson Teej festivals and others, he added and further said that this festival is celebrated with the participation of everyone in the village amidst mutual-brotherhood. Such festivals would continue to be organised in villagesfor the people so that they can enjoy it and at the same time know about the cultural heritage.
The Minister pointed out that farmers are the foundation and economy of this state and country. It is only when the farmers are strong that the village becomes strong, state becomes strong and the country becomes strong. The farmer is like God to us. A number of steps have been taken by the state government to benefit the farmers. This will bring economic prosperity to the farmers.
He said that development works are being done in the state under the leadership of the Chief Minister. The electricity bill has also been halved. Recruitment of local unemployed youth has also been started. Continuous work is being done for development works in all the urban areas of the state. The state has also received awards for many other works including cleanliness, ODF, Pradhan Mantri Awas(urban) and several other.
The poor are being benefited from other schemes such as MorZameenMor Chinhari, MorZameen mor Makan. Minister Dahria also announced to release a fund of Rs one crore for the beautification of Bandha Pond in the area. Padmashree RS Barley and Anoop Ranjan Pandey were honored by other artists and distinguished people.
A large number ofeminent citizens including Nirmal Koshale, Lalitha Verma, Santosh Tiwari, Dinesh Jangde, HemdasKurre, SR Bandhe, Dr CBS Banjare, Ramdhani Verma were present on the occasion.
