Experience to gaining expertise: Management Trainees all set to work in SAIL-BSP

Bhilai, Aug 11: Gleaming eyes, passion to learn, enthusiasm to question, inquisitiveness to know more and accommodative nature – these are the traits of the dynamic young batch of the Management Trainees being groomed at SAIL-BhilaI Steel Plant currently through the Central Induction programme.
The beauty of their training schedule is that classroom lectures of inter-personal and team effectiveness are interspersed with presentations on Iron and Steel making, visits to the shopfloor ranging from Coke Ovens, Blast Furnaces.
Steel Melting Shops to Rolling Mills like Universal Rail Mill and Bar and Rod Mill. With a penchant to explore a new place – where they have been posted, these MTTs are all set to make a mark for themselves in their bright career, seeing the real picture unfold in front of them through these guided visits.
The trainees are not just taught about the nuances of steel making, they are also told at length about the wide gamut of activities undertaken by SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant apart from steel making.
Ankit Kulshestra hails from the city of Morenain Madhya Pradesh, which is famous for the sweet dish ‘Gajak’. After completing his BE in Mechanical Engineering and M Tech in Thermal Engineering from IIT Madras, he chose to join BSP. Ankit wants to gain knowledge and improve profitability and productivity of the company. He enjoys writing poetry and is delighted at the green environs at Bhilai.
Sanjay Raghuvanshi is from Vidisha, MP. He was earlier working at RINL and quit to join SAIL-BSP. He wants to complete all project related tasks with team work.
“I want to pursue my career as per allotted tasks and schedules and want to reach a senior position in the organization assuming higher responsibility, “says Sanjay.
Shadab Firdousi has studied at BIT Durg. He admires BSP’s work culture and simple life. “I want to complete all tasks on time and give my best shot to reach the top hierarchy,” he said.
Abhilash Kumar Singh was born in Bhilai. He proudly shares that this grandfather was one of the first employees at BSP in the 1960’S. Abhilash is the son of Parmanand Singh, Pulpit operator at Rail and Structural Mill. “BSP has given me and my family so much – I’m indebted to serve the organization.
The cosmopolitan culture at Bhilai, along with the tranquil environment is an ideal hub to pursue education,” says Abhilash. My dream is to be a better person, technical expert and move on to head Bhilai Steel Plant some day, he says.
Shivam Kumar Goyal used to stay in Ambikapur earlier. He worked in L & T for 2 years prior to joining SAIL. The clean environment, work-life balance and peaceful surroundings brought him here. “Safety should be of utmost importance in the Plant and I want to enhance that, he says.
I would want an environment where people have their say and would want to further spread the Quality Circle movement at Bhilai.” Shivam too dreams of heading SAIL-BSP one day.
These young minds are experiencing the different facets of Bhilai Steel Plant during their journey of settling into their career at one of the finest units of Maharatna SAIL. They are all set to spread their wings and fly high with SAIL.
