Rape accused nabbed within few hours
Bhilai, May 21: Durg Police is handling the cases of crime against women in a sensitive manner and is taking immediate action on receiving complaints. In one such case, Police acted swiftly and managed to arrest a rape accused within few hours of the crime. The cops foiled his attempt to flee to Uttar Pradesh after committing the crime.
According to information, the accused is Devendra Singh (25) a resident of Zone 2 Khursipar and a native of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. He was presently staying at his sister’s place in Khursipar. On the intervening night of Friday, the accused targeted a 17-year-old girl who resides in neighbourhood. The accused trespassed into her house and raped her. The accused threatened the girl for not disclosing the incidence to anyone. The victim is the niece of the accused from a distant relationship. Later the girl narrated the incidence to her mother after which the victim family rushed to Khursipar Police Station and lodged a complaint.
Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur and supervision of Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Dhruv and City Superintendent of Police Vishwas Chandrakar, Khursipar Police responded immediately and took the accused in custody. the accused was all set to escape to Uttar Pradesh but the cops reached there on time and took him in custody. The accused has been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 506, 376 of IPC.
