‘Urban poor to get well-equipped ‘pucca’ housing facility’

Raipur, Jun 04: Following the announcement made by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to provide well-equipped pucca houses to the urban poor and homeless in the state, an amount of Rs. 1 thousand 188 crore 28 lakh has been approved for construction of 36 thousand 177 houses. This approval was given in the meeting of State Level Sanction and Monitoring Committee chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, in response to the proposals of Urban Administration and Development Department. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria has thanked Chief Minister Mr. Baghel for the sanction of funds for providing housing facility to the urban poor.
Among the houses approved in the meeting, Rs. 1 thousand 66 crore 18 lakh has been sanctioned for construction of 34 thousand 308 houses under 138 projects of various urban bodies under “More Zameer-Mor Makaan” and Rs. 1 thousand 66 crore has been sanctioned for construction of 1869 houses under the project of Raipur Development Authority. Approval of Rs.122 crore 10 lakh was given for this. Under this scheme, State government is taking steps to improve lives of poor homeless people of urban areas and bring about a change in their social and economic condition. Along with the houses, basic facilities, electricity, water, roads etc. will also be provided to the beneficiaries.
Additional Chief Secretary, Housing and Environment Department, Mr. Subrat Sahu and Secretary, Finance and Urban Administration and Development, Smt Alarmelmangai D. also attended the meeting.
