SC directs to file FIR, hold CID probe against IPS Uday Kiran, 2 other personnel

Raipur, Oct 01: Supreme Court has issued orders to file FIR against the IPS from state Uday Kiran, SI Samir Hungdung and constable Chatrapal Sinha. The Court has lifted the stay obtained by the three in this case and directed to hold CID probe into the matter. SC supporting the order by Bilaspur court and this probably might be the first case of its kind when the based upon Court’s order, FIr would be lodged against the IPS officer and other two police personnel. The hearing into the case was done by the bench comprising Justice MR Shah and AS Gopanna.
It is notable here that in June 2018, a ball-baminton international player and gold medalist was reportedly misbehaved with by some persons in mini stadium in Mahasamund during practice and this is case of 2018. The Kotwali police instead of registering the case had turned down her request and asked her to leave. In protest against the same, MLA Vimal Chopda along with his supporters gheraoed the thana. There are charges that it was as per instructions by the IPS Uday Kiran, the police had used lathi-charge on MLA and his supporter.
