‘Raas Leela’ and other rituals marks ‘Sharad Poornima’

Birkoni, Oct 22: On occasion of ‘Sharad Poornima’ festival, members of Leela Samitis presented the ‘Shiv-Parvati’ marriage and ‘Raasleela’ at ‘Leela Rangmanch’ near Bazar Chowk here on Wednesday and the festival of ‘Sharad Poornima’ was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm.
The programme started with prayers to Lord Ganesha and then prayers were performed. After this Shiv-Parvati’s ‘Raas-Leela’ was performed and their marriage excerpt was presented. Here making special mention of ‘Shiv Samadhi’, other social issues were highlighted through this traditional festival. In this a wonderful performance of Indian culture was made and it received huge accolades. In this programme few attractive tableaux were also made and then prayers were performed to all Gods, Goddesses and ‘devi-devatas’. The devotees putting on fast on occasion of ‘Sharad Poornima’, offered prayers to Lord Shiva and Parvati. The devotees taking a holy dip in the morning first performed prayers and on this festive occasion, special preparations were made at Ram-Janaki Mandir. It was on showering of God’s blessings in the form of ‘Amrut’, sweets dishes like ‘kheer-puri’ were made and offered at 12:00 mid-night and ‘prasad’ was distributed to all those present. On this occasion people in town also celebrated ‘Sharad Poornima’ preparing sweet dishes and enjoyed the celebrations. On this occasion many of the devotees went to temple and offered prayers and sought blessings.
