Irregularities in distribution of dry ration during COVID pandemic

Raipur, Jun 27: The BJP has become aggressive over irregularities in distribution of dry ration during the Corona pandemic. Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik has written a letter to School Education Minister Premsai Singh Tekam demanding action against the guilty officials.
Kaushik said that the officers of the department are giving wrong information even in the assembly, but no action is being taken against them. It is clear from the answers to the questions in the assembly that corruption worth several hundred crores in the distribution of dry ration is being committed under high patronage. While there is no provision under Chhattisgarh Store Purchase Rules for direct purchase from NCCF, Kendriya Bhandar, NCCF and other cooperative institutions without tender, the department procured from Kendriya Bhandar in Bastar, NcCF in Kondagaon and Kendriya Bhandar and NCCF in Surajpur. In Surajpur, materials worth about 2.5 crores have been purchased directly without tender from a self-help group called Tribal Mart.
Kaushik said that no security deposit of three percent was taken in the purchase, nor was GST and TDS deposited. He also mentioned about the irregularities in the purchase of soyean chunks. Even after the market price was Rs 50, it was bought for Rs 105. Kaushik said that the minister says that according to the letter of the central government, cooperatives have been given work. He demanded to make public the letter of the central government. Kaushik said that it is surprising that no action is taken in the assembly even after giving wrong information. The entire matter should be investigated by the Chief Secretary or retired Judge of the High Court.
