Govt considering extension of lockdown till May-end

Raipur, May 10: Despite comparative control over the spread of Corona virus in Chhattisgarh, the State Government is considering to extend the ongoing lockdown till the May-end.
While Raipur and Durg were the worst affected region but both the District has reportedly checked the further growth of Covid 19 but the other districts from Bilaspur division has registered massive increase in Covid 19 cases. With the present scenario, the state government would increase the lockdown duration but may come up with more relaxation like allowing opening of few relatively more important businesses.
Cabinet Minister and spokesperson of Chhattisgarh Government Ravindra Choubey said that lockdown has helped to check the Covid 19 cases but added that government is not considering lifting the lockdown despite fall in number of cases. However, few more relaxations are on cards. It is notable that the lockdown in Raipur is till May 16.
Officials stated that administration is relieved with fall in cases in Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon but the increase in cases in Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba and Baloda Bazar has created headache which has kept the government on toes. Government is now focusing on rural areas to contain the spread of diseases. More medical facilities would be increased in rural areas.
