Ch’garh’s new film policy will be unique: Bhagat

Raipur, Jun 13: State Cultural Minister Amarjit Singh Bhagat has said that on the direction of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, a draft of a new film policy is being prepared in Chhattisgarh. The new film policy of the state will be unique in the country. The draft of the new film policy will be prepared after studying the film policies of various states. With this, all the people associated with the film world including film producers, directors, artists, technicians of the state will get its benefits at the national and international level. Bhagat said that through Chhattisgarhi films, work would be done to preserve the art, culture and tradition here, while the artists of the state would get a bigger platform and opportunity. Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat brainstormed with the Chhattisgarhi filmmaker-directors and artists of the state through virtual medium to prepare a new film policy in Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, producers, directors and artists gave their suggestions. It is noteworthy that for a long time there was a demand by producers-directors and artists to prepare a film policy. Keeping in mind the interests of the artists of the state, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel took their demands seriously and now a new film policy will be ready soon. Culture Minister Bhagat said that a new policy is being prepared through Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. This will take the film development of the state to a new height. With the formation of a new film development policy, filmmakers from other states including Bollywood-Hollywood will come to Chhattisgarh to make films and its artists and technicians will also get a chance. Minister Bhagat said that along with providing free sites for shooting in the identified government places, grants are also being considered for the shooting of films, serials, short films, webseries etc. In the virtual meeting to prepare the draft of the Chhattisgarh New Film Policy, dozens of producers-directors and artists of the state gave their suggestions. With the government’s efforts by these artists, to increase the number of cinema houses, to establish cinema houses at the small towns and at the block level, to implement the pension system for the artists, to provide insurance security satellite facilities, various suggestions were given for Akashvani-Doordarshan regarding performance of Chhattisgarhi songs and films on the lines of other state, providing free government sites for film shooting, providing medical facilities, film festivals and award functions. In the virtual meeting, about 50 producers-directors and artists, including Secretary, Culture and Archeology Department, Mr. Anbalagan P., Planning Commission member and advisor Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi and Director of Culture Department
Mr. Vivek Acharya were present.
