National Tribal Dance Festival and Rajyotsav exhibition get massive response

Raipur, Oct 31: In the Rajyotsav, the public relations department’s exhibition in the Science College ground has become the center of attraction for the people. On the third day of the festival, a large number of people which includes women’s self-help groups, school students and common public visited the fair. Folk dance of Chhattisgarh has been staged in the exhibition in which beautiful depiction of Madiya dance, Gedi dance, Panthi dance, Parab dance, Rautnacha, Pandwani and Karma dance is being performed. Chhattisgarh is very rich in terms of folk arts. The dances here have their own unique identity in India. Mandar, cymbals, Manjira and Danda are mainly used in the folk dances here. While dancing, they wear ornaments like peacock feathers and garlands of Guri. Free distribution of pamphlets, brochures and monthly magazine Janman related to the schemes and programs being run by the state government is also being shown to the people visiting the exhibition. Shilpgram has also become the center of attraction of the people at Science College grounds. A stall has been set up by the weavers for the sale of traditional clothes, kosa products, bell metal earthen lamps etc. Keeping in mind the festival of Diwali, earthen lamps are being sold hand in hand. Members of Jai Shree Laxmi, Om Shanti, Aradhana Mahila Self Help Group of Magarlod development block of Dhamtari district visited the exhibition and gave their feedback and said that the traditional dance of Chhattisgarh has been presented very attractively. Similarly, Kumari Nisha, Sunita and Anupama, college students and resident of Amleshwar in Durg district said that they participate in the cultural programs of the college. They loves Bastar dance. Through this exhibition, there was an opportunity to know about other dance forms and instruments of Chhattisgarh.
