Complete preparations on mission mode for NAAC assessment of colleges: Umesh Patel

Raipur, Jul 19: Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel has instructed Department officers, college principals, professors and non teaching staff to complete preparations on mission mode for NAAC assessment. NAAC assessment is the measure of better idea and quality in higher education, he said. He emphasised to work to ensure gradng of all the colleges in the state by the year 2022.
In compliance with Patel’s instructions, the divisional level virtual meetings of government colleges are being held towards preparations for NAAC assessment. Seminars and training sessions are also being conducted over NAAC assessment.
For monitoring this work, a three-tier team has been constituted by the Higher Education Department at the Directorate, University and District level. Out of 170 qualified colleges in the state, 73 have completed IIQA and 25 colleges of them have submitted SSR in NAAC, which is an achievement during the COVID pandemic.
Surguja and Bilaspur divisions have performed better in the preparation for NAAC assessment in government colleges and instructions have been given to emulate the work of the these divisions in other divisions of the state. It may be mentioned here that the Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel had instructed to expedite the preparations for NAAC assessment by holding a meeting of Vice Chancellors, Registrars and Principals in the month of February.
For this, he directed the colleges to start registration immediately. He also told universities to play a leading role by preparing a road map for this.
