4 online cricket satta operators arrested
Raipur, Jul 09: Telibandha police on Thursday night raided a house in Avanti Vihar Colony and nabbed four online cricket satta operators after they were nabbed red-handed accepting bets for the One Day International cricket match between England and Pakistan.
According to police, Telibandha police on Thursday night received tip off about a major online cricket satta operation being underway from a house in Avanti Vihar Colony. The information was immediately shared with senior police officers after which Raipur DIG & SSP Ajay Yadav instructed to confirm the information and then instantly raid the house and nab the satta operators red-handed. Acting on his instruction, police teams immediately headed for the particular house and surrounded it from all sides. Hereafter, the house was made to open and inside four persons were nabbed red-handed accepting illegal bets. Police also seized from the spot cash Rs 15000, 33 cell phones, one laptop computer, a TV set and an electronic device over with the entire illegal racket was being operated.
All four of them were immediately taken into custody and brought to the police station where they were identified as Dilip Chawala, Sanjay Chawla, Mehul Chandani and Suraj Singh Rajput.
All four were then booked under Section 4A of Gambling Act and are now being interrogated further.
