36 kg raw silver, cash of Rs 12.70 lakh seized

Mahasamund, Feb 03: Bagbahra police got a major breakthrough when during regular checking 36 Kg of raw silver and cash worth Rs 12.70 lakh hidden inside the car’s dickey. The cost of this silver is reported to be around Rs 25.39 lakh and the police has taken both the youths into arrest. Disclosing in this case SP Mahasamund district Prafulla Thakur informed that two youths in car were coming from Odisha. It was during checking by Bagbahra police on NH-353, near Chandi Mandir turn, the car was stopped and thorough checking was done. The police found 36 kg of raw silver and Rs 12.70 lakh in cash in the car’s dickey. Two traders arrested are Sachin Kumar Gupta and Sachiv Gupta and are reported to be from Agra. The two informed that they returning from Odisha with raw silver and the cash from the raw silver sold. But the two could not produce any documents for carrying such huge quantity of raw silver and the sales and purchase made in Odisha. Presently the police has forwarded this case to IT department for further action.
