Jai Maa Durga group to be felicitated with national award

Raipur, Mar 07: On occasion of International Women’s Day, Jai Maa Durga Mahila Swasahayata Samooh (JMDMSS) of Rajnandgaon district will be felicitated for their remarkable works in the national award ceremony by National Rural Livelihood Mission, Rural Livelihood Division MORD at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on March 8. In this programme Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will felicitated the female members of this Group for their remarkable works.
CM Bhupesh Baghel and Minister for Women and Child Develompent Department Anila Bhedia have extended greetings to women from JMDSS for this big achievement. Duo said that special initiative is being taken to make women self-sufficient and independent in Chhattisgarh. In the ‘Gouthans’ in state, special arrangements have been made for running economic activities for Women Self-Help Group and with this women are becoming economically self-sufficient. The women from Jai Maa Durga Swa-Sahayata Samooh have presented a live example of economic independence and to create awareness among the society. It is notable here that on occasion of Women’s International Day, 30 WSHGs and 10 Gram Sanghatans will be felicitated for their contribution at national-level. In this Jai Maa Durga Swa-Sahayata Samooh of Rajnandgaon district has got the honour from the state. President of this Group Lokeshwar Sahu along with other started making of ready-to-eat food and for this they took loan from Bank, Gram Sanghatan and Sakhi Cluster. They adopted 16 mal-nourished children and provided them with nutritious food viz. ‘khichida’, milk, ‘murra laddu’, ‘chana’ and ready-to-eat food and all these 14 children have now become well-nourished. Eight groups from Rajnandgaon Project Gramin-1 together got 8 couples tie nuptial knots in Gram Bharegaon. They also organised programme on ‘shower’ ceremony of pregnant women and actively took part in ‘Vajay Tyohar’ of children. The women of the Group played active participation in making their village ODF and are also doing works like ‘Swachchata’, ‘Dabari construction’ and others.
