Raipur, Oct 21: The medical stores opened under Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores scheme, launched by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today, will sell quality generic medicines at the rates 50 to 71 percent cheaper than the MRP. In these medical stores, Paracetamol tablet worth Rs.10.20 will be available for Rs.3.88, Ciprofloxin Eye/Ear Drop worth Rs.39.75 will be available for Rs.15.11, Cetirizine Tablet worth Rs.18.48 will be available at Rs.7.02, Azithromycin Tablet worth Rs.70.69 will be available at Rs.26.86, Amoxicillin Capsule worth Rs.72.46 will be available at Rs.27.53 in these medical stores. Moreover, the stores will sell ORS worth Rs.17.96 at Rs.6.82, Multivitamin Syrup worth Rs.169 at Rs.64.22, Ofloxacin-Ornidazole Tablet worth Rs.145 at Rs.55.10, Diclofenac Gel worth Rs.105 at Rs.39.90, Clotrimazole Dusting Powder worth Rs.116 at Rs.44.08, Miconazole Cream worth Rs.90.50 at Rs.34.39.
Surgical items including cotton, bandage, spirit, sugar test kit, oximeter, BP machine, thermometer, vaccine, IV etc will also be made available in these medical stores at discounted rates. Similarly, 69 Chhattisgarh herbal products include powder, soap, coffee, green tea, candy, cashew, mahua laddu, honey, broom etc will also be sold in these stores.
Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store will be opened in the middle of the city in the closest vicinity to the hospital. Under the profitable business model, shops are being provided to the businessmen at the rate of Rs. 2 per sq. ft. in municipal areas and Re. 1 per sq. ft. per month in municipalities and nagar panchayats for the purpose of saving investment in infrastructure.
These medical stores have been given the freedom to buy medicines in the open markets. Soon the number of these shops will be increased to 188, so as to benefit maximum number of people. Besides, home delivery service of medicines will be started in the near future.
